Legal Translations

Traducción Jurídica
Legal translations must be carried out by translators with legal expertise—professionals who hold degrees in both Translation and Interpreting and Law. At Tradupla, S.L.U., we work with more than 30 such qualified experts, ensuring the highest standard of quality.
A common misunderstanding is failing to distinguish between sworn translations and legal translations. A sworn translation is signed and sealed by a sworn translator, making it an official translation. A legal translation, on the other hand, involves the translation of legal documents but doesn’t necessarily require the signature of a sworn translator. However, many clients request sworn legal translations to ensure official validity.
Documents we frequently translate:
Translation of minutes
Translation of agreements
Translation of audits

What is a Legal Translation?
A legal translation refers to the translation of legal or official documents that do not require certification by a sworn translator. These documents may later be signed, sealed, and apostilled—thereby becoming sworn translations. Whenever content of a legal or official nature needs to be translated, a legal translator should be used. These professionals are specialised in both legal systems and linguistic precision, ensuring the legal integrity of the text in both the source and target languages.
The key difference between a legal translation and a sworn translation is that the latter is signed, stamped, and apostilled by a translator officially recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sworn translations are delivered in hard copy, including a stamped and signed version of the original document. These are dated and often required by institutions that only accept certified translations. Sworn translations may also be submitted digitally, provided they are scanned copies of the original signed version.
