Interpretation

Professional Interpretation Services
Interpretation involves the oral translation or transmission of spoken messages, producing an equivalent speech that preserves the original meaning in another language. There are several types of interpretation, including consecutive, liaison, telephone, and whispered (also known as chuchotage). The professional in charge of this linguistic task is the interpreter, whose role is to faithfully convey the message from the source language into the target language. To achieve this, the interpreter must not only be fluent in both languages but also take into account elements such as tone, register, and context to ensure that the message remains accurate and unaltered.
Consecutive Interpretation
In consecutive interpretation, the speaker pauses regularly, allowing the interpreter time to take notes and then deliver a clear and concise translation of what has just been said.
Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous interpretation is performed in real time, as the speaker is talking. Typically, the interpreter begins speaking a few seconds after the original message starts, delivering the interpretation in the target language while the audience listens through headphones.
Telephone Interpretation
Telephone interpretation is a cost-effective solution that eliminates travel expenses. It’s ideal for businesses or individuals needing remote interpretation for interviews, client calls, or negotiations over the phone.
Liaison Interpretation
Liaison interpretation involves the interpreter being physically present during meetings or interviews, providing immediate, short-segment translations. This allows both parties to communicate effectively, even if they don’t share a common language.
Whispered Interpretation (Chuchotage)
In whispered interpretation, or chuchotage, the interpreter sits or stands close to the listener and whispers the translation quietly while the speaker is talking. The term chuchotage comes from the French word for whispering.
